〈Wolf + Lamb〉などのレーベルからリリースされた何枚かの先鋭的なデビューシングルでその輝かしいサウンドの幕を開け、その後〈Circus Company〉からリリースされたデビューアルバム『Space Is Only Noise』が、各メディアから大絶賛された。２年連続でResident Advisorの“Top 20 live acts”の第1位に選ばれたように、幾つものソールドアウトを記録している彼のソロ・ライブはバンド形式へと進化し、数々のキーボードやシンセサイザーを駆使し、ヴィンテージのマイクに彼の歌声を載せることにより、ルーズでスロー、そして官能的な実験を見事な音響の渦へと変換させる。数々のビッグ・フェスティバルやライブ会場を廻り、そして23歳になったばかりのニコラス・ジャーは、音楽の心・体・精神に宿る繊細なスペースを征服し続けて行く。
Nicolas Jaar is currently in the studio, plotting a new album. While we are waiting to hear more news on that subject, Jaar has become one of today's surprise packages, with the unanimous backing of critics and his fans. His positive reviews led him to be included in Resident Advisor's list of the year's best live shows. Always operating at around 100 BPM, this original producer creates dense and floorfilling atmospheres that are completely unconventional, in a style he calls "blue-wave". His tracks contain a strange and hypnotic combination of factors that includes measured minimal techno, house with organic textures, sonic collages featuring his own voice, and influences ranging from African jazz to dubstep.
